Did the sympathy factor save Antonella Barba from “American Idol” elimination tonight? Or do the folks at VotefortheWorst.com have more power than we realized?
Antonella, the 20-year-old contestant from Point Pleasant, bombed during last night’s semi-final show with Aerosmith’s “Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” receiving tough comments from all three judges and acknowledging herself that she was suffering from nerves.
Earlier in the day, risque photos of her surfaced on the web, including several shots of her posing topless and one of her going to the bathroom.
The pictures, plus the negative edit she received in the Hollywood round, inspired VotefortheWorst, a website that encourages people to sabotage the show by voting for bad singers, to throw their support behind Antonella.
