Amora, London’s Sex Theme Park

An adults-only “theme park” has opened in London’s West End and it promises it will help visitors to improve their sex lives.

Amora – which promotes itself as a “love and relationships academy” – is in Piccadilly Circus, across from the much-photographed statue of Eros, the Greek god of love, and just around the corner from Soho, London’s red-light district.

The Amora’s interactive exhibits explore sexual health, fantasy and fetish, aphrodisiacs, sex toys, attraction and the art of flirtation.

“There’s a need for sex education which isn’t boring and information which isn’t sleazy,” Dr Sarah Brewer, Amora’s director of exhibits told The Guardian.

“We want to improve attitudes. There was a play and film, No Sex Please, We’re British. I think that’s changed to ’sex please, we’re British’.”

And to make sure this remains true, Amora has built the “Orgasm Tunnel” where visitors are invited to explore the biology of orgasm, with an aim to improving their own skill base.

The reception area offers a taste of what is to come. Visitors walk to the sound of calm soothing music, psychedelic images and red-coloured walls.

Beyond here lay the seven interactive zones, covering every aspect of sexual relationships from first flirtations and dating, to sexual health and wellbeing.

Wall graphics, video clips, interactive touch screens, life-sized interactive exhibits as well as a dedicated sex therapist are all on hand to give the visitor an array of information, tips and ideas.

Marketing director Lisa Seddon said: “There’s a layering effect to our approach here.

“How much detail you go into is entirely up to you.”

The Love & Desire zone introduces visitors to the powers of attraction and seduction.

The Sensorium zone encourages people to explore all the erogenous zones with multi-media models wired to respond to every touch.
