Aki Nishimoto Is Miss Japan

“As people who endeavor to model themselves after the ancient Greek gods, we are glorifying physical beauty to realize an existence that is closest to the gods.

Body building tournaments give us a chance to compete on the basis of the soundness of our bodies. Males put an emphasis on strength and power, and to that, females add the aspect of beauty.”

So says 41-year-old Tokyo native Aki Nishimoto, a body builder who last October 4 took the title of “Miss Japan,” for the third year in a row and fifth time overall.

Jitsuwa Mad Max (January) reports that the auditorium at the Japan Youth Hall in Yoyogi, Shibuya-ku was the venue for the 2007 All-Japan Bodybuilding Tournament. For males, this marked the 53rd annual “Mister Japan” event; for females, the 25th “Miss Japan” pageant.

How many females made it to the finals? The article doesn’t say, but the photo in Jitsuwa Mad Max shows 14 female Schwartzeneggers strutting on stage as they roll their abs and flex their pectorals.

The competition consisted of fixed set of poses, after which each of the contestants engaged in a one-minute long freestyle routine, assuming a series of poses accompanied by background music.

As these muscle-bound maidens with bulging biceps strut on stage in teeny-weenie bikinis, there is very little evidence of anything resembling breasts.

“The percentage of body fat in the average person is about 18, but among the tournament contestants, it’s down to about 7 percent,” Nishimoto explains.

“I’ve done years of training, but from about four months before the event I try to shed weight and work out lifting weights to get in shape.” - Read more, Bronzed babes in bikinis bare bulging biceps in battle of the body builders
