Drive Safer With Keeley Hazell’s Breasts

According to the results of a recent survey, glamour model Keeley Hazell would be the ideal person to front a seatbelt safety campaign.

The research, conducted by newcarnet.co.uk, coincides with the 25th anniversary of seatbelt wearing becoming law. Users of the motoring website chose the 21-year-old ahead of England football star Steven Gerrard and Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton.

Newcarnet launched the poll after calling for celebrities to endorse road safety in the way that exalted luminaries such as Kevin Keegan, Alvin Stardust and Jimmy Saville did in the 1970s and 80s.

Famous names helped slogans such as “Be Smart, Be Safe” and “Clunk, Click, every trip” become engrained in the English language.

Some 28 per cent of those who participated voted for Ms Hazell. Steven Gerrard, whose England team-mates Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole were recently spotted driving without seatbelts while talking on mobile phones (allegedly), was close behind on 25 per cent.

Lewis Hamilton, who last year received a driving ban for speeding in France, came third on 18 per cent. Noel Edmonds came last on two per cent.

“For very different reasons, the public admire celebrities like these, so they really could have the ability to help to change opinions and save lives,” said Newcarnet’s Massimo Pini. “If Keeley was to tell van drivers to belt up it could have much more of an effect than the scare tactics currently used in road safety campaigns.”
