Hot new Ultimo beauty Katie Green is on a mission to “bring back Britain’s curves”.
She quit as a Wonderbra girl after being told she was too fat.
The 21 year old won a modeling competition earlier this year and was awarded a contract for the esteemed Wonderbra franchise. Unfortunately, Katie’s opportunity was cut short when she refused to adhere to her new bosses demands that she conform to industry standards and lose weight.
Green, who’s a size 12, was left devastated when a top-modeling agency said she needed to lose two stone.
However, a few days later, her confidence received a big boost, when Ultimo signed her up. “I really didn’t know where my career was going to go after the depression of being told I was too fat,” she told News of the World.
“But when you published my story, Ultimo contacted my agent to sign me up with a prestigious new contract. “My life has been completely turned around in less than a week—and it’s all thanks to News of the World,” she added.
Now that she has been signed up by rival lingerie giant Ultimo – she is determined to prove that big can be beautiful.
Katie, 21, said: “I aspire to be someone like Marilyn Monroe. She was a great sex symbol, despite being a size 16.”
She feared her modeling career had gone bust when she quit Wonderbra after being asked to lose two stone by her agency. But the size 12 babe has now been signed to model Ultimo’s D-G Cup range.
Katie said: “It’s great to see such an established lingerie brand backing curvier women. It’s a dream come true.”
Ultimo boss Michelle Mone, 36, said: “By signing Katie, it proves that models don’t have to be size zero to look fabulous or to have successful modeling career.”
“It’s also bold statement to all those big-name brands out there that discriminate against curvy girls! Unlike a lot of bra firms, Ultimo supports and celebrate real women. Katie’s figure is beautiful and she looks so sexy in the latest Ulitmo designs.”
