Following hot on the heels of the amazing nude 3D sequence in the new My Bloody Valentine, a Chinese filmmaker has announced plans to make what he claims to be the world’s first 3D sex movie.
Hong Kong film makers are preparing to leave film goers goggle-eyed by releasing the world’s first pornographic movie in 3D, a news report said on Sunday.
Shooting on the Chinese-language film 3D Sex And Zen, budgeted at 4 million US dollars, is scheduled for April with producers promising some of the most realistic close-up sex scenes ever.
“Just imagine that you’ll be watching it as if you were sitting beside the bed,” Stephen Shiu Jnr told the Sunday Morning Post. Producer Stephen Shiu Jnr, chair of One Dollar Production, says his company will make “3D sex and Zen,” a sequel to the 1991 title “Sex and Zen” produced by his father Stephen Siu Yeuk-yen.
Lensing will begin in April on what its producer claims will be the world’s first erotic movie to be made in stereoscopic 3-D. “There will be many close-ups. It will look as if the actresses are only a few centimeters from the audience.”
Twenty five to 30 per cent of the movie, an update of one of Hong Kong’s best known erotic films Sex And Zen, will be sex scenes, Shiu told the newspaper.
A Hong Kong-based special effects company that has worked on major blockbusters including The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D will help produce the 3D images for the sex movie.
According to newspaper reports Shiu says pic will be made on a budget of HK$30 million ($3.9 million) with 3-D effects provided by well-known effects and post production outfir Menfond Electronic Art. Scheduled for delivery in December, pic will star actresses from Japan and Taiwan.
Shiu says that 3-D movie making is the best way to beat movie piracy and the way forward for a Hong Kong film industry that is currently treading water.
The producers hope the movie will cash in on the craze for 3D films in Hong Kong where 55 per cent of takings for last year’s hit film Journey to the Centre of the Earth came from the 3D version.
However Shiu admitted casting for the film was proving difficult.
“We’re having trouble finding a male lead who is willing to undress in front of the camera,” he told the Post.
“It’s a lot more difficult to find an actor than an actress for this kind of film,” he said.
The original “Sex and Zen” was based loosely on a 17th century Chinese literary classic “The Carnal Prayer mat. This year mainland China has announced a campaign to stamp out “vulgarity” in the media and in recent weeks has closed dozens of Internet websites.
Shui says story of “3D sex and Zen” would be a tale of how excess can lead to tragedy. – Variety
