Hollywood Says No To Surgically Enhanced Big Breasts

Plastic, it seems, is no longer fantastic. Even Hollywood, that factory of artifice, is demanding a return to reality when it comes to women’s bodies.

Disney Studio’s recent casting call for female extras for the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film included a surprise announcement: ‘Must have real breasts. Do not submit if you have implants.’

Well, hallelujah. Let’s hope this is the beginning of a trend to bring some natural bounce back to the big screen and put an end to those solid orbs so disdainfully dismissed even in Hollywood as ‘chest rocks’.

Surgically enhanced breasts might still be considered sexy or essential by airhead starlets and glamour models, but the new buzzword in America is ‘authenticity’. Continue reading ›

Young Models In The Sex And Drugs World Of International Fashion

Aussie model Tione Hawkins has exposed the international modeling circuit as a place where young models are regularly offered drugs, pressured to starve themselves and exposed to the seedy sex trade.

At 17, Hawkins arrived in Milan with hopes of becoming Australia’s next international supermodel, but left the Italian fashion capital disillusioned and disappointed.

“I was told: ‘If you want to get this job, then don’t eat for a week,’ ” she said, referring to visits to her Milan modeling agency, Fashion.

While figuring out what women want has stumped men for centuries, understanding how they think about sex may have just gotten easier. Cindy Meston and David Buss, psychologists at the University of Texas, interviewed over 1,000 women around the world for their book Why Women Have Sex and managed to come up with 237 reasons, ranging from the predictable — commitment — to the puzzling — curing a headache.

Spoiler alert: love may be further down on the list than one might think.

You co-authored a famous 2007 study “Why Humans Have Sex.” Why focus on women this time around?

We discovered that women’s sexual psychology turned out to be far more complex than we envisioned. It deserved an entire book-length treatment.
